Omaha Hi/Lo: Basic Overview
Omaha Hi-Lo (also known as Omaha/8 or better) is commonly seen as one of the most complicated but well-loved poker variations. It’s a variation that, even more than regular Omaha poker, aims for play from all levels of players. This is the primary reason why a once obscure variation, has expanded in acceptance so rapidly.
Omaha hi/lo begins like a normal game of Omaha. 4 cards are dealt to every player. A round of wagering follows where players can bet, check, or drop out. 3 cards are handed out, this is referred to as the flop. A further sequence of wagering ensues. After all the players have either called or folded, a further card is revealed on the turn. an additional round of wagering ensues and then the river card is revealed. The gamblers must attempt to put together the strongest high and low five card hands using the board and hole cards.
This is the point where a few entrants can get baffled. Contrasted to Hold’em, where the board can be every player’s hand, in Omaha hi lo the player has to utilize exactly three cards on the board, and precisely two cards from their hand.
