This is,by far, one of the most critical concepts in texas hold’em. Playing a top 10 tactic is the very initial strategy that competitors should learn considering that it teaches the player excellent behaviors that will lead to following winnings.
Folks are constantly asking me what a good, solid course of action is for a beginner participating in hold’em. My response is always the same, use a top ten strategy.
Top Ten tactic, applies to the top 10 pockets hands that you can get. These hands are a pair of aces, king-king, queen-queen, ace-king same suit, jack-jack, 10-10, nine-nine, 88, AQ suited, and 77. The strategy indicates that you only play these hands. This will lead to very conservative action, but for a beginner to texas holdem, conservatively is exactly how you will want to play.
It appears to me that I am constantly observing new players betting very aggressively, they are the first ones to go all in, and that’s typically the incorrect strategy. If these newbie bettors would hold to a top 10 poker strategy, they would fair much better in the long run. More notably, this conservative top ten poker tactic will educate the burgeoning competitor patience, which is the most important ability that a hold’em competitor can have.
