Internet Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

[ English | Deutsch | Español | Français | Italiano ]

Gus Hansen experienced an amazing year on the WPT where he was the only gambler to make it to the last table in 3 of the competitions. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may remember one of the largest pots in high stakes poker recorded history competing against Daniel Negreanu. He raked in a huge pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Gus has made many televised poker appearances and is considered to be one of the best bettors in the world. While wagering on internet poker, a different side of Hansen has been seen. Gus regularly participates in the 200/400 NL maximum buy in of $40, 000. Hansen usually buys in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He waits for a good hand and then pushes all in. I believe Hansen is an amazing poker player but certainly not even close to the regular players at 200/400NL. Unless he is penniless, he has no reason to settle at the game with the minimum buy-in.

Buying in for the min takes a majority of the skill out of big stack poker. Hansen is accepted to be 1 of the best poker players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy-in for the total amount. I think tv can alter our view of the real world sometimes. The greatest poker players anywhere in the world might just be players you have won’t have heard of before. Gus can be seen participating in web poker on Full Tilt. He normally competes in high stakes omaha high and texas holdem. Gus has proven himself as a competition player. Can he back up his talents in money games?
